Katie Crowe Coleman was born in Meridian, Mississippi. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1991. Afterwards, she attended the University of Mississippi where she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism. After college, she married Douglas Coleman and they returned to Meridian in 2001. She joined Junior Auxiliary shortly thereafter. In JA, she served as RIF chairperson, Vice President and President.
Katie is a past member of the Meridian Little Theatre board where she served as President and is a current board member of the EMBDCF. She has volunteered at Poplar Springs Elementary School and is a member of First Presbyterian Church were she sings alongside her husband.
Katie and Douglas have two children Mac (15) and Ella (12). She is Vice President of Magnolia Steel, Co, Inc where works alongside her brother.
Dustin Markham, a native of Meridian, is a cum laude graduate of Meridian High School, a graduate of Meridian Community College and a 2007 cum laude graduate of Jackson State University, having obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He is a 2010 graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Dustin has been licensed to practice law in the state of Mississippi since 2011. He currently serves as Defender in the Lauderdale County Youth Court.
An active member of the community, Dustin is a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, where he sings in the men's chorus. He presently serves as secretary of the Lauderdale County Bar Association, is a member of the Magnolia Bar Association, a board member of the Meridian/Lauderdale County Boys and Girls Club, a member of the Redline Community Redevelopment, assistant scout leader for Troop 5 of the Boy Scouts of America, and Study Buddy for Meridian Public Schools. He is a member of the Meridian High School Wildcat Booster Club, Rotary Club of East Mississippi, a 2015 Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Leadership Forum Graduate, serves on the Meridian Little Theatre Board of Directors, is the Treasurer of the Slow and Easy Car Club, and serves on the East Mississippi Correctional Facility Advisory Board.
On July 1, 2013, Mr. Markham was sworn in as the Councilman for Ward 2 in the City of Meridian. He was selected as a 2014 inductee into the Meridian Community College Hall of Fame. He is currently an associate attorney with the firm of Barry, Palmer, Thaggard, May and Bailey, LLP.
